Frequently Asked Questions

Should my pavers be sealed?

Sealing is not required, however, it does offer some benefits like making it easier to remove spills and stains, keeping the joint sand in place, and helping to prevent weeds and ants. Sealer also enhances the colors and beauty of your pavers and retards the colors from fading. Before sealing, the pavers must be clean and dry. We recommend that you wait at least 30 days after installation before sealing. It is recommended that pavers be resealed every 3 to 5 years.

Do you use a waterbased sealer?

We do not use waterbased sealers. We at BWS Pavers use a top of the line oil based sealer that protects and beautifies your pavers for years to come.

Can weeds grow between my pavers?

When properly installed and sealed, weeds can not grow between the pavers. They can in some cases germinate on top due to the wind or animals dropping seeds. You may use a product such as Round-Up if they are troublesome.

What is efflorescence?

Efflorescence is a natural lime deposit that can occur on the surface of any concrete product. It happens when the salt leaches out of the concrete and deposits to its surface. It is not a defect in material and it will go away.
