About My Church

The church I go to, Beach United Methodist Church, is outstanding. Instead of me trying to come up with all the right words to describe what it's like there, I'll just let them tell you. This is from their website...

Welcome! We're Glad You're Here.

First and foremost, we've created a friendly, relaxing atmosphere - after all, we're at the beach! We feel that it's our responsibility to "clear the way" for you to come to church, even if you've never been in church before. We want you to be able to experience the great music, encouraging messages, friendly people, and enjoyable atmosphere that are all part of beach!
 
What you will find is this...
 
• A casual, relaxed atmosphere - We're not concerned with what you wear. On any given weekend, you'll see people in shorts or jeans and others in dresses or sport shirts. It's your call! We're just glad you're here.
 
• Approachable people who'll help you find your way around - we'll make sure the first face you see when you approach the church has a smile on it. Whether you need childcare or are looking for a place for your teens, a campus host will be nearby to help you get where you need to go.
 
• Positive and relevant music, occasional dramas, high-impact media presentations.
 
• Messages that help you deal with real life issues. We'll even give you a helpful outline with the Bible passages. What you learn on the weekend, you'll be able to use during the week.
 
• An awesome Promiseland experience for your children, K - 6th grade on Saturday evenings & Sunday mornings. For infants & toddlers, you'll find a loving Nursery staff of employees that are trained & certified.
 
• That you matter to God - and to us here at Beach! Whether you're single, married, single again, with or without children - no matter where you've been or what you've done - we invite you to experience the difference here at Beach.

About Beach UMC
 
For us, it's pretty simple: Every single human being matters to God Therefore, they matter to us.

While some churches may be member-focused, we are mission-focused, and our mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We are constantly striving to create environments that draw people into an encouraging and intimate relationship with God.
 
We strive to be authentic, honest, and humble in our community of faith. We strive to be a place where both regularly churched people and those not currently attending church can connect with God in an engaging, relevant, and grace-filled environment. We are an informal church where there are no dress codes, phony pretensions, or perfect people. We are who we are and by God's grace, we are all on a journey toward becoming more like Christ.
 
We are real people, who deal with real life issues, in a real church environment. Here at Beach UMC, we seek to apply the unchanging truth of the Bible in an inspiring and challenging way that gives birth to life change in the hearts of each of us.

We know that when we leave our buildings, we are truly entering the mission field! We're out there, responding to human need with loving compassion, across town and around the world. We have chosen to focus our efforts on "ten" primary missions in our community and beyond. This way we can have the greatest impact on human lives and community transformation.

Costa Rica Missions:

An on-going mission by Beach UMC to transform the communities surrounding San Ramon, Costa Rica. At least two annual trips of 8 days each immersed in the Costa Rican culture sharing God's love. The teams serve through a floor ministry, vacation Bible school, and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the children and adults in this area of the world. Strong relationships have been forged between the people of Beach UMC and the residents of San Ramon, along with our partners; Pura Vida Missions and Faithful Servant Missions.
