Wow. I just got back from my first team meeting. I got to meet the group I'm going down with and it's got me nervous, excited, apprehensive and motivated - all at the same time! We played team building games so we can get to know each other. Funny thing was that most of the 22 people there already knew everyone else. Yeah, over half was on this trip last year! They all say the same thing. They say it touches so deep in your soul, you feel it's your calling every year thereafter. Wow. I can't imagine.

We reviewed the itinerary for when we get down there. I found out we're building a bus stop, a sidewalk around their church and at the end of the week, we're supposed to get the new orphanage started. Sounds like a lot, but the people I'm traveling with are already talking about what they'll finish up when they go back in July! Crazy. Can you imagine being that moved, that inspired? What is my life going to be like after I experience this? I think I'm ready. I think the time is now. I wanna know.

Today is my brother's birthday. Happy Birthday Slim! He's a great soccer player. Speaking of soccer, I did a little reading about the Costa Rican national team. Looks like they got some real sparklers coming through the ranks right now. They're looking to be a powerhouse in the Central American region. I can't wait to kick a ball around with the local kids. That's gonna be wild. I'm sure they'll run circles around me!

I just got out of bed this morning, totally pumped. I have been trying to think of ways to help generate money online to pay for this trip. I think I will create a MySpace page, a Facebook page and any other Page account I can come up with. I hear about how you can do this, but it's gonna have to start somewhere, somehow. Also, the Dolphins play at 1pm today. I'm excited because I'll be meeting my boss for the first half. He's a big Dolphins fan too. We were supposed to have had our first soccer playoff game for Heritage Select, but the other team forefeited. Oh well.

I'm so excited to have the website up and running now. It was fun to make and it gives me a chance to apply my skills to other uses besides ads in a magazine!

During the next few months, I will be writing out my thoughts and feelings about the trials and tribulations of trying to fundraise for a trip like this. I love to travel and serving the community has been something I have been excited to try. My dad does a lot of work with Habitat For Humanity in Delaware and he's a real inspiration. I want to find that sense of humanity within myself and take it abroad, satisfying both urges to help AND travel!
